The poem, Local Girl Makes Good, was accepted by Big Wide Words in conjunction with Islington International Festival 1997. This was a well-travelled poem, having been displayed on several No.38 Routemaster buses between Victoria and Hackney.


Strangely enough, The Blowpipes never received an official invitation to perform at London's Millenium Dome for the premature shindig at the end of the 1999th year. At least we can offer (with apologies to the Bard) our own literary contribution to the general folderol:
