El Equipo is a new and vibrant band playing hot Puerto-Rican Salsa and Cuban Son.
Led by pianist Sara McGuinness, El Equipo (The Team) is a powerful combination of top musicians producing an exciting, energetic sound which is highly danceable.
The line-up varies, but the musicians below are regular members.
Piano - Sara McGuinness
Sara has played with many of the top Latin bands in London, including Conjunto Sabroso, Salsa Y Aché and Ray Martinez' LA Explosion. She is the driving force behind El Equipo.
Bass - Jimmy Martinez
Swinging bassist from Havana, Cuba, and the band's main arranger.
Congas - Bill Bland
One of the grooviest conga players in Europe, Bill has played with numerous top salsa bands, including Palenque and La Clave, as well as playing in Yoruba Jazz People and Brazilian group, Afro Bloc.
Trombone & Backing Vocals - Paul Taylor
A leading trombonist on the London Latin scene for over a decade, working with Snowboy, Roberto Pla's Latin Ensemble, La Clave and many other London-based bands.
