INDUSTRIALIZED HOUSING

The timing of Fuller's 1944 Dymaxion Dwelling Machine scheme was neatly predicted by Le Corbusier in 1923:

"In the next 20 years, big industry will have co-ordinated its standardized materials, comparable with those of metallurgy; technical achievement will have carried heating and lighting and methods of rational construction far beyond anything we are acquainted with... Financial and social organization, using concerted and forceful methods, will be able to solve the housing question... Dwellings, urban and suburban... will incorporate the principle of mass-production and large-scale industrialization."
(Le Corbusier - Towards A New Architecture, p.217)
