DYMAXION CAR

Dymaxion Car

In 1933 Fuller designed a revolutionary, streamlined car. This 11-seater, 3-wheeler has been aptly described as one of the most startlingly beautiful and original motor vehicles ever built (Pawley, p.68).

The story of the Dymaxion Car offers endless food for thought for the designer. It is told in chapter 11 of Hatch's biography, and many drawings and photographs can be found in Dymaxion World. A richly-illustrated chapter in Pawley's book includes a critical assessment of the design, and Baldwin provides further details.

This invention may be contemplated in the context of road transport history.
