BANKING

Fuller had unorthodox views about the banking system, and made the following provocative remark, which echoes the old socialist point about workers having to extend credit to the employers when they are paid after they have done a week's work.

"Bankers use people's credit when entrusted to them with no more moral equity than a storage warehouse proprietor has to use for himself the automobiles and furniture of people stored with him."
(Nine Chains, p.75)
